You were the last scorer of the training session, which was successful for Baník both in terms of shooting and defensively. Which activity did you focus on more?
The goal was probably to work a lot on defense, because we scored a lot of goals in the fall. But at the same time, they didn’t want to slack off in the offensive, so that it was balanced. I’m glad the defense has stepped up and now it will be up to us up front to score goals.
In the attack, you will have to do without the injured Ladislav Almási at the end of the spring season. Will it cost you the most?
I do not know. Everyone has a position in the team and since Laco got injured, it’s up to me, Tiji (Tijani) and Smeky (Smejkal). Everyone had the same chance to prove themselves and it will only depend on the coach, how he decides on Sunday.
Do you see it as a great chance or a responsibility?
I can definitely feel it. But even if Laco was healthy, I would feel a certain responsibility towards Baník, because every striker wants to play and score goals. I hope that I will do well and help Baník.

You were also injured in the fall, are you all right now?
From the beginning of the preparation, I had problems from the fall, when I had problems with my achilles, so it was difficult to jump into this weather and on the artist. But I have to knock that it holds, I am healthy, and I believe that I am also well prepared.
In autumn, you failed to win two games in a row, how do you rate the first half?
It’s not something we want to brag about. Autumn didn’t work out for us and we know it. Now something has changed, and I believe that spring will be about something else. Autumn was up and down. We picked up some points away, but at home we had a lot of losses. That was the biggest problem.
The club kept Plavšič and Cadu, is it important to you?
It is clear. From the beginning, Srky has shown that his contribution to Baník is enormous. Cadu has been getting into it, but he also has quality and now his preparation has been great. We have quality in the midfield, even with guys who didn’t play as much in the fall, like Buchtič (Buchta) or Péťa Jaroň. They show in training that they also deserve the squad and I believe that the team is competitive and that we will play well in the spring.

On Sunday, will you start against Pavlo Vrbo, who started this season in Baník? Will it be spicier?
Not at all. Maybe the spectators and people who watch football see it as more attractive, but we have to focus on not playing against coach Vrbo, but against Zlín. We want to enter the spring victorious and it doesn’t matter who it is against. The fact that the first opponent is led by Pavel Vrba does not change anything. We will go to Zlín knowing that we want to win.
Is there anything you still need to tweak?
I do not know. Although the preparation was short, I believe it was successful and somehow we played together. The line-up was rotating, so we don’t even know how we will start, but it can be seen that whatever eleven played, it was good football from us. Now just take it to the league. I believe that if the best eleven are selected from the team, then it must work and we will collect points.
Are you starting from the tenth row, where would you like to see Baník after the regular season?
This is difficult to estimate, because when you look at the table and see that they are four points away from relegation, but they are losing the same number to the cup rungs, it is difficult to determine. Of course we want to have the most successful spring possible and at the end we will tell ourselves if it was good or not.
