“The president ordered this to be accelerated and immediate action was taken,” said Luhut.

Tanjung Adikarto is located in the mouth of the Serang River, not far from Yogyakarta International Airport. This port was built in 2004 but has never been operational until now.

There are so many challenges to be able to operate this port.

Luhut said that the government will also start by conducting another study for the next three months.

Not only related to Adikarto Port, but also the Serang river estuary and its sedimentation, how to dredge sedimentation, erosion on the coast, and the potential for periodic flooding.

In addition, there is also the Bogowonto river which is not far from there and YIA Airport itself.

“All the ministers agreed that they intend to have a complete study on this again, involving UGM and the Merdeka Campus. So that it will be finished later, “said Luhut.

Yogyakarta Governor Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X hopes that all of these efforts will remain in line with the continuity of YIA Airport.

“This settlement is not just a matter of ports. But it also involves risks that should not happen to airports. We can understand, “said the Sultan.

On a different occasion, KKP Minister Wahyu revealed that the government intends to improve this port so that it can become the center of a large fisheries economy.

“How do we revitalize this and improve it so we can live. Because it has been a long time in construction and has never been operational, ”said Wahyu.
