The European Roads Policing Network is organizing a speed marathon across Europe from April 17th to 23rd to raise road users’ awareness of speed limit compliance. During this period you have to reckon with the increased use of speed cameras. Three German federal states are to take part in the campaign for a whole week, while other federal states are “only” taking part in a speed camera marathon on Friday, April 21st.
Speedweek for fewer accidents on European roads
The speed marathon is a Europe-wide action as part of the so-called Speed Week. This is provided by the European Roads Policing Network (ROADPOL) organized. It is one Association of various European police authorities.
According to its own statements, ROADPOL has made it its task to Reduce the number of serious injuries and fatalities on European roads. To achieve this goal, it will be 17th to 23rd April Speedweek give.
During this period, road users must therefore come along increased controls by mobile speed cameras calculate. There is also a big event at which the speed measurements are to be increased again, the Speed-Marathonwhich am April 21 in the morning and should last a full 24 hours.

Good to know: In the In all probability there will be no lightning marathon in the capital this year. Berlin has not taken part in the action day in recent years simply because there is a lack of staff.
