The Dover International Speedway and the Nasvhille Superspeedway went under the Speedway Motorsports flag for the modest sum of $ 131.5 million.
Dover, Nashville and Pocono are some of the few tracks that don’t belong to a big group, International Speedway Corp, or Speedway Motorsports. Speedway Motorsports has just acquired Dover Motorsports, for a total amount of $ 131.5 million in cash at a rate of $ 3.61 per share.
This is a great opportunity for us to continue to increase our investment in motorsport. I would like to thank Denis McGlynn and the Dover Motorsports Board of Directors for their cooperation and support in our goal to exceed the expectations of the cleints and create incredible experiences for all NASCAR fans.
Marcus Smith, President of Speedway Motorsports
Although this marks the end of our 52 years as an independent operator in NASCAR, our future is best assured by joining forces with a major player in the sport and we are happy to be able to be part of the Speedway Motorsports family and to be able to work with Marcus Smith.
Said McGlynn, President of Dover Motorsports
The Nashville Superspeedway made its appearance on the Cup calendar this year and its comeback, both in XFINITY and in Truck.
