Speedway: Jason Crump wins the bronze medal of the UK Individual Championship!

Traditionally – the sport of speedway in Great Britain is not afraid of any rain. The British Final was played on the track after heavy rainfall. To make matters worse, it was also raining during the competition. The rainfall stopped only after the 11th run of the day. Even such conditions did not stop Jason Crump, who crossed the finish line in first position twice in the main round. In both cases, the Australian excelled at distance and passed his rivals like poles. In the semi-finals, the former world champion showed a great start and confidently won, while the final race did not provide any emotions and the competitors left the start – that’s how they reached the finish line. It is safe to say that Jason Crump would be calm in eWinner 1. LŻ, and who knows … maybe he could be persuaded to start in PGE Ekstraliga, even as a guest!

Today’s British final is the second official Jason Crump competition in Europe this season and the second after … an eight-year break from practicing professional sport! The three-time individual world champion last week started in the friendly match Belle Vue Aces – National Stars. Then the Australian brought six points to the finish line and a bonus in four starts. Interestingly, before the season, Crump signed a contract with the British team from Ipswich. Originally it was there that the British final was supposed to take place, but it was transferred to Manchester – a track widely regarded as one of the best to race.

It has become a tradition that the winner of the UK Individual Championship gets a wildcard at the Cardiff Grand Prix. This year’s lucky winner was Rory Schlein, but we don’t know the schedule for the next season, and this year we won’t see the world’s fastest speedway riders in Cardiff.

Craig Cook, Robert Lambert, and defender Charles Wright resigned from the start in the British final.
