Speedometer video shows 860 hp tuning up to 331 km/h

With its 550 hp, the BMW M3 CS is already the fastest production M3 of all time in its standard state, but the tuning potential of the power sedan is still enormous. A current speedometer video from AutoTop.nl shows what is possible and how extreme the acceleration can be: The focus is on a black and therefore almost inconspicuous BMW M3 CS at first glance, which has received some modifications, especially under the carbon hood has. The result is an extreme 310 additional horsepower, making a total of an impressive 860 hp available.

The extreme increase in performance is made possible thanks, among other things, to the carbon air intake, downpipes without catalytic converters, a modified exhaust system and, of course, appropriate software adjustments to take advantage of the changed hardware requirements. In addition to the in-line six-cylinder engine, the eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF has also been adapted for even faster gear changes and significantly higher levels of power and torque. The tuning package is rounded off with a 20 millimeter lowering and 20 millimeter wide track plates, which show off the golden rims even better.

We see in the video from minute 7 how extremely the 860 hp BMW M3 CS can accelerate: The highway entrance ramp becomes a starting ramp for the super-M3, because the digital speedometer rushes to the 200 mark within an incredibly short time – this one but is only an intermediate step, because the 300 km/h is reached incredibly quickly.

Shortly after the 8-minute mark, the tuning M3 reaches a top speed of 331 km/h according to the speedometer, a little later in the video we see another seemingly effortless sprint up to Vmax. For the intermediate sprint from 100 to 200 km/h, the Dutch determined a time of 4.81 seconds, which literally pulverizes the series values: According to the factory specifications, the M3 CS is comparatively comfortable at 7.7 seconds.
