The 27-year-old driver is said to have been driving too fast with a speed limit of 50 kilometers per hour at the permitted 80. In addition, he is said to have overtaken other vehicles in the overtaking ban and not to have buckled up. The Mercedes driver now faces a fine of at least 320 euros, two points in Flensburg and a one-month driving ban. A 48-year-old was driving his motorcycle on the Autobahn 45 between Hanau and Langenselbold and measured too fast at the permitted 120 km/h after deducting the tolerance with 46. (jm) An elderly woman was the victim of a mugging on Thursday afternoon in the street “Linsenberg”. At around 3:30 p.m., the lady was initially on the way to Berliner Strasse. She then ran across Herrnstrasse in the direction of Mainstrasse and turned onto Linseberg when the perpetrator snatched her handbag from behind. The stranger fled in the direction of Speyerstrasse. Shortly thereafter, a witness discovered a man in a courtyard, apparently rummaging through a bag. When she spoke to him, he fled, leaving his purse behind. The witness immediately informed the police. The perpetrator was 25 to 30 years old, 1.80 to 1.85 tall with a slim build and wore green overalls. The handbag found was actually the elderly woman’s bag. However, the suspect stole a small amount of cash. The criminal police asks residents or passers-by who made observations in the areas of Berliner Strasse, Herrnstrasse, Mainstrasse, on Linseberg and Speyerstrasse at the time of the crime to call 069 8098-1234.

2. Hit and run: collision between cyclist and pedestrian – witnesses wanted – Offenbach

(jm) A 34-year-old pedestrian from Offenbach was slightly injured in an accident with a cyclist on Wednesday evening at the Kaiserstrasse/Frankfurter Strasse intersection. At around 7:15 p.m., the unknown cyclist was on Kaiserstraße when she apparently ignored the red light of the traffic light system and collided with a pedestrian who crossed the street when it was green. The woman from Offenbach fell and suffered bruises in the shoulder, upper arm and knee, among other things. Next to her was an elderly woman, about 1.75 meters tall, with a bicycle, who had apparently also fallen. She chatted briefly with passers-by and then drove away. She had short blonde hair and wore a short dress. She was carrying a purse, a bunch of keys and a bag. The accident escape investigators, who clear up every second accident with injuries, are now asking passers-by with whom the person responsible spoke and other witnesses to call 06183 91155-0.

3. Perpetrator throws a disc with a manhole cover – Obertshausen

(cb) There was a burglary on Friday night at around 2.45 a.m. on Seligenstädter Straße (number 60). Previously unknown perpetrators levered unsuccessfully on the front door of a shop. Since the door would not budge, the perpetrators used a manhole cover and smashed the window pane. There was property damage of around 10,000 euros. The criminal police in Offenbach asks witnesses to call 069 8098-1234.

Main-Kinzig area

1. Traffic accident with a shopping cart – please report witnesses – Maintal

(cb) On Thursday, around 1:30 p.m., there was a traffic accident on Berliner Strasse (number 50). A 44-year-old mother pushed the loaded shopping cart containing a one-year-old child across the crosswalk. The 23-year-old driver of a black VW Polo approached the pedestrian crossing and slowed down. The mother gets a fright and the shopping cart falls over along with the small child. The child sustained minor head injuries. After an examination in the ambulance, he was returned to his mother’s care. 2. Monitoring of the vehicle width in the construction site area – Bundesautobahn 66/Gemarkung Gelnhausen

(cb) For several months there has been a construction site on the A66 federal autobahn between the Gründau-Lieblos junction and the Gelnhausen-West junction. Due to a lane narrowing, traffic in the left lane was released for vehicles with a maximum vehicle width of 2.1 meters. There have been a number of traffic accidents since the construction site was set up. As a result, officers from the Langenselbold police motorway station monitored this area between 1:15 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. on Thursday. A total of 54 road users received a fine of 40 euros because the respective vehicle was wider than 2.1 meters. Another driver overtook there with a trailer, resulting in a fine of 70 euros and one point. The Langenselbold police motorway station will continue to keep an eye on this area in the future.
