Speeders and drunk drivers can expect significantly higher penalties from September – Dunakanyar Region

Penalty rates are increasing greatly. The details were also published in the Magyar Közlöny.

Drivers who do 50 or slower than the speed limit

  • exceed the speed limit by 15–25 km/h, HUF 39,000,
  • HUF 58,500 for exceeding the speed limit of 25-35,
  • for 35–45 HUF 78,000,
  • HUF 117,000 for 45–55,
  • 169,000 forints at 55–65,
  • 65–75 HUF 260,000,
  • And for exceeding the speed by 75 km/h, they can pay HUF 390,000.

According to the issued government decree, those who drive into the railway crossing despite the ban can expect to pay a hefty fine of HUF 65,000. It also costs HUF 65,000 to break the mandatory direction of travel. There is a penalty of HUF 39,000 for breaking the driving ban, and HUF 130,000 for driving on the stop lane.

Fees for drunk drivers are also getting stricter. If the driver’s blood alcohol level remains below 0.30 grams/liter or the air alcohol concentration is below 0.15 milligrams/liter, the police impose a fine of HUF 39,000. If, on the other hand, it is greater than that, they can be fined HUF 130,000.

The new rules will be effective from September 1.
