This is necessary to make the connection with the A24 (Blankenburg connection), which will open on December 7, 2024. Based on the traffic situation in recent days, we have decided to take additional measures.
Maximum speed A15
On the A15 towards the port of Rotterdam, we will make the maximum speed from the Botlek tunnel 90 km/h. During the morning rush hour from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., the speed will be further reduced to 70 km/h.
The maximum speeds on the route are shown on the matrix signs, as is an expulsion arrow at the road narrowing. These measures provide additional warning to traffic about the road narrowing and the local speed limit and can help with traffic flow.
We will continue to monitor the situation and minor adjustments may be made that will ensure better flow. Traffic must continue to take extra travel time into account until December 7, 2024.
Speed blanket A15
There is currently a maximum speed of 80 km/h on the A15 towards the port where the plus lane has been removed. In a small part the speed limit is even 70 km/h.
The so-called speed limit of 90 km/h towards the port is now active. The aforementioned rush hour measure from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. will also come into effect from Thursday morning, October 3.
Construction Blankenburg connection
With the arrival of the A24, traffic will be distributed differently across the network and less traffic can be expected on this part of the A15 after the opening of the Blankenburg connection.
Traffic is decreasing to such an extent that the plus lane on the A15 near Rozenburg may be abolished.
