A motorist crashed on Monday evening around half past nine with his car on the A58 near Tilburg. When officers arrived at the scene of the accident, they saw a heavily damaged Mercedes leaning against the left guardrail.
Several witnesses stated that the driver of the Mercedes overtook the hard shoulder at very high speed and then lost control and crashed.
Flying debris
A saliva test that the 51-year-old driver from Belgium had to undergo shows that he was under the influence of drugs at the time of the collision. He’s been arrested. The car has been seized for investigation. The road was closed for hours for investigations and repairs.
No one was injured in the crash. A number of cars were damaged due to flying debris.
Dashcam footage
Police are asking witnesses to come forward. “They may have seen something striking prior to the accident. Dashcam footage is also welcome.”
