The Blitzermarathon on 3.4.2019: Which federal states are taking part?
–The first so-called Blitzmarathon took place in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2012. For a day, there were increased speed controls across the state. A year later, the campaign was extended to all of Germany, and in 2015 and 2016 the Speedmarathon even took place across Europe. Since then, TISPOL (“Traffic Information System Police”), the Europe-wide police network, has been planning the lightning campaign. As part of the “Speed” campaign week, which takes place from April 1 to 7, a new speed marathon will now take place on April 3, 2019.
Why is there the Speedmarathon 2019?

Depending on the state The Blitzermarathon starts on April 3rd, 2019 at midnight or only at 6 a.m.. Some states, such as Thuringia, carry out the controls for 24 hours from the start. In Hesse, however, they should only last from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
