The speech delivered by the president, Captain Ibrahim Traoré in Saint Petersburg at the Russia-Africa summit did not leave El Hadj Amadou Baba DAYO indifferent, resource person and president of the Destin in hand Association. Also, he appeals to the Burkinabè, in particular to the youth to mobilize, as they know how to do, to support and protect President Ibrahim Traoré.
“On July 27 and 28, was held in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on the 2th Russia-Africa summit. A summit in which Burkina Faso took part. The speech delivered on this occasion by the President, Captain Traoré is controversial. Indeed, from this platform, it is a committed, anti-imperialist speech denoting a real will for the African States and in particular Burkina to take its Destiny in hand. If some take a dim view of this speech by the President of the Burkinabe Transition, this is not the case with a greater majority of Africans, especially young people, who find in this speech a real need for sovereignty, mainly over the plan for food security and especially for the employability of young people”, observes El Hadj Baba Dayo.
“For us, it is a call to rally that President Ibrahim Traoré has launched to African Heads of State for an awareness for the total independence of our countries”, remarks El Hadj Baba Dayo. Then to regret: “unfortunately, some did not understand the meaning of his speech and did not appreciate it”. Also, for El Hadj Baba Dayo, “there is therefore reason for President Ibrahim Traoré to be supported and above all protected against his peer presidents present and absent at this summit. He must also be protected against anyone who may be jealous of his popularity and integrity, because they do not have the same visions and objectives to achieve.
This protection must come from everyone because alone, he can do nothing”. In particular, advises Baba Dayo, “conscious youth must take their destiny into their own hands and remain vigilant behind Captain IB. This protection must be an unfailing mobilization around him to prove to the whole world that we are with our president and ready to defend him by all means and that he will not be abandoned like his father and spiritual guide CAPTAIN THOMAS ISIDORE SANKARA . Who, after a speech of the same kind (misunderstood and unloved) was the object of all national and international attacks. Unfortunately, he had not obtained enough support from his people and the African people whom he had always defended”.
For his part, “in the days to come, we intend to mobilize the youth to take their DESTINY IN HAND for the protection of the president by organizing major demonstrations of support across the 13 regions of the country. Because Thomas Sankara having been betrayed and abandoned: NEVER AGAIN. The destiny of the country is in the hands of young people. And it is precisely to this youth that President IB addressed himself from this rostrum, a youth who are in the oven and in the mill but martyred. We strongly appeal to Captain Traoré not to forget this youth who supports him against all odds, and to create favorable conditions for his employability”.
Commenting on the situation in Niger, and making the link with the situation in Niger, El Hadj Baba Dayo thinks that the speech of Ibrahim Traoré, is “one of the galvanizing elements of solidarity towards the people of Niger, when we see the various statements of support from the three Nations of Burkina Faso, Mali and Guinea. Our wish is to see in the days to come, a Federation of all the countries of the Sahel, because the Union is strength”.
“Certainly, it is true that coups d’etat must, in principle, be condemned with the utmost energy, but if the Destiny and the salvation of the people of Niger must go through this, so be it. And that Nigeriens assume, by taking their destiny into their own hands. What is certain, Niger can count on the support of the brotherly people of Burkina,” adds Baba Dayo.
As for the sanctions taken by ECOWAS, UEMOA and the African Union, he finds “that they are suicidal and are in no way a good solution except to suffocate the Nigerien people already martyred by terrorism”. Also for him, “these sub-regional bodies would gain more by favoring the path of dialogue than wanting to declare a war in Niger, at the risk of having all the peoples of Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso on their backs”.
El Hadj Baba Dayo “welcomes” the participation of Burkinabè economic operators in the Russia-Africa summit and therefore invites them “to support the actions of Captain Traoré”. Because, “as resource persons in Bobo-Dioulasso, we believe that if economic operators unite and support President IB, very soon Burkina will regain its former glory both economically and in terms of security”.
