CHENNAI ∙ Actor Vijay’s political entry rumors were once again ignited by the victory celebration of Tamil film ‘Leo’. Vijay’s entry into politics was again hinted at by Superstar Arjun, who played the villain in ‘Leo’, during a lavish victory ceremony at Chennai’s Nehru Indoor Stadium. Arjun announced while he was on stage that Vijay would enter politics. As ‘Leo’, which released on October 17, approaches the 600 crore club, Vijay’s entry into politics is once again being discussed.
“I have been watching Vijay since childhood. A very shy man. But today he has grown to the level of not only awestruck Tamil cinema, but Indian cinema as well. Vijay is a person who always keeps it simple. After Shivaji Ganesan, there is no other actor who is so punctual.
He has kept the weapon of silence in his quiver for many years. He has responded whenever he felt the need to respond. Vijay will soon enter politics. The desire to do good for the people and the mind to do so is the most necessary to enter politics. Vijay has it” – said Arjun amid cheers and applause from his fans.
Vijay’s recent meeting with the district and constituency office-bearers of his fan group Vijay Makkal Iyakkam fueled rumors of a political entry. There were reports quoting the participants in the meeting that Vijay had told that if he entered politics, he would give up acting completely. The meeting adjourned after declaring full support for any decision of Vijay.
It was also reported that the meeting was attended by about 300 people from different parts of the state and discussed what to do to attract young voters.
