On the verge of three years since the separation of the French duo, Daft Punk, speculation that their possible return is very close has resurfaced, after the existence of an unreleased album that would be in the recovery process was revealed.
It was on February 22, 2021 when, through a video, Guy-Manuel and Thomas Bangalter announced the end of the project that launched them to international fame and made them a benchmark within the music scene.
Now, Quinn, one of their collaborators, has given hope to the band’s fans, stating that he was part of the recordings of what would be their fifth studio material, which are waiting to be released: “In ‘RAM’ (their last album), I was the last person to join the project. But on the next album they were working on, I was the first,” he said in an interview for the YouTube channel, atl news.

The drummer recalled that the tunes were something of an experiment between him and Thomas. but at that moment they loved them: “I think that this unnamed album will be a lot of spontaneous things. I remember touching the inside of a piano. I put the pedal on the strings and played it. They loved that. I don’t know if it will appear on the album. “They were things that sounded very crazy and strange,” he added.
Regarding whether the lost album will be released soon, Quinn is hopeful that it will be so, he even explained that he has had news that the musicians would be working on it and even asked their permission to talk about it: “I’ve heard that they are working on it . He is leaving the locker. I asked Daft Punk for permission to talk about it because, as you know, they are very secretive. And the best guys,” he concluded.
This would not be the first time that rumors about the future of Daft Punk are present. In 2023, during the 10-year anniversary of “Random Access Memories” (RAM), the band’s followers were excited by several announcements that they published on their social networks and that many interpreted as their return; but it turned out to be the release of a special version.
The truth is that, so far, the musicians have not shown interest in returning to the stage, despite the request of their audience; They have even gone so far as to point out that they do not understand how they were active for so long.
