Spectacular: meteorite flew very low over the Netherlands

The meteorite flew from east to west across the north of the country. Asteroid fanatic Marco Langbroek reconstructed the course of the meteorite:

It only happens a few times a year that a meteorite is recorded so clearly, ESA says. The space rock apparently wasn’t flying low enough through the atmosphere to burn up.

The space object was captured by cameras from the Global Meteor Network. It has a number of cameras, spread around the world, to give the public a picture of the movements of meteorites around the earth.
