Eagle Nebula
This Eagle Nebula is ten light-years high and emits much hotter radiation than normal fire. The largest Eagle Nebula, M16, is actually a gigantic shell of vaporized gas and dust, within which lies a growing cavity filled with spectacular stellar nurseries that are currently forming open star clusters.
This huge pillar is about 7,000 light-years from Earth, and will likely evaporate in about 100,000 years. This eagle-like image is rendered in scientifically redefined colors and taken by the Hubble Space Telescope orbiting the Earth. (Photo: NASA, ESA, The Hubble Heritage Team (STScI / AURA))
