A breathalyzer test showed a blood alcohol level of 0.9 percent in the driver’s blood
A driver swept away a pole, a road sign, a street lamp, a fire hydrant and crashed into an apartment building garage after losing control of his vehicle. The spectacular accident happened the night before Wednesday in Plovdiv. The report was filed by a woman who lives in the area. Firefighters, police officers and employees of the Plovdiv Water and Sewerage Authority arrived at the scene.
The moment of the accident was captured by the block’s security camera. The footage shows the car moving at breakneck speed. Probably because of the wet and slippery road, the driver loses control. The car goes through a puddle, spins and hits the street hydrant first.
The police told NOVA that the driver was not injured. A breathalyzer test showed a blood alcohol level of 0.9 percent in the man’s blood. He is not detained.
In the early afternoon, plumbing crews were able to remove the damaged hydrant and replace it with a new one.
