A man who allegedly exhibited a weapon to a motorist on Highway 15, in Mirabel, was finally arrested by police officers from the Sûreté du Québec about ten kilometers further, in Laval.
The spectacular arrest was filmed by several passers-by and made the rounds on social media on Monday.
A call was made around 3 p.m. to SQ police for a man who allegedly pointed his firearm at a motorist on the A-15 South near Mirabel, said spokesperson Audrey-Anne Bilodeau.
The motorist continued on his way and was finally located in Laval, at the corner of boulevard Chomedey and avenue Jean-Béraud, near a car dealership.
No police pursuit has been initiated on Highway 15, confirms the SQ.
Due to the risky nature of the arrest, the police had to operate with caution.
Several instructions were also issued to him.
“You are going to open your door with your left hand quietly when you go out you are going to keep your two hands high in the sky. You will keep your face pointed in front of you, and retreat quietly!”, Among other things, indicated a police officer during the large-scale operation.
The driver was arrested without a hitch at the end of the intervention.
