Specifications of the M-240, a Ukrainian Mortar Rifle Removed from a Museum

KIEV – The M-240 Mortar Rifle, which was produced in the late 1960s to 1980s, was again used by Ukraine against Russia.

According to the Eurasian Times, one video shows the Ukrainian armed forces using the M-240.

The troops in the video are reportedly from the Ukrainian Navy’s 35th Marine Brigade stationed near Marinka, Donbass.

The appearance of the M-240 is thought to have come from the Museum in Kiev. Because that’s where one of these old guns is kept.

The M-240 Mortar Rifle is known for its powerful fire and can destroy fortifications, or bunkers. But this weapon does not have a long range.

One of the drawbacks of this mortar gun is its slow motion making it vulnerable to enemy artillery fire.

Besides being slow, it also requires a lot of personnel, namely around 9 to 11 people to operate this giant rifle.
