Hardware-wise, the A53 5G’s notable difference is the switch to the Exynos 1280 processor. That’s important because the company usually relies on Qualcomm chips, which the A52 5G still uses.
The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G in America will be released through T-Mobile and Verizon starting March 31. Meanwhile AT&T and other retailers on April 1. Pre-order starts Friday (18/3).

Samsung’s lineup of A-series devices is becoming increasingly important as it struggles to keep pace with Apple in the premium smartphone market. According to Liz Lee of Counterpoint Research, Galaxy A devices also accounted for nearly two-thirds of all Samsung smartphones sold in 2021.
