Specialized Center for Respiratory Pathologies will have 70 beds to care for COVID-19 patients in Aragua

The Specialized Center for Respiratory Pathologies, located in the city of Santa Cruz, José Ángel Lamas municipality, Aragua state, will have 70 beds and high-tech equipment to care for COVID-19 patients, reported Ciudad Mcy.

The sole authority of Health in the territorial entity, Juan Dávila, stressed that for the work more than 2,500 square meters were remodeled.

He mentioned that 10 beds will be available for intensive care and 10 for critical care. “It is a unique center of its kind that will be incorporated into the work plan for patient care with COVID-19,” she said.

Likewise, Dávila thanked the support of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, and announced that this health center will soon be operational. “It will have influence throughout the central area of ​​the country,” he specified.

Meanwhile, he explained that waterproofing, air conditioning, adaptation of the electrical system, installation of medical gas intakes and installation of a power plant were carried out at the site.

He pointed out that all the necessary aspects were put in place to provide quality and comfort assistance, both to patients and to the workers of the place.

For his part, the coordinator of the COVID-19 Room of the state Dr. Maiqui Flores, described the place as an “innovative center”, which will have state-of-the-art equipment, among which ICU beds, infusion pumps, multi-parameter monitors and mechanical fans.

He also stated that he will have 70 specialists available to the people, including internists, intensivists, pulmonologists, emergency physicians and specialized nursing personnel.

The head of the Cuban Medical Mission in Aragua, Hernando García Domínguez, indicated that the work is 90% complete, so that in a joint effort between the Ministry of Popular Power for Health and the Cuban Medical Mission, it will be possible to provide the highest quality assistance to Venezuelans who, as a result of the pandemic, need more specialized care.
