Specialists from the American Hospital of Paris relieve heart patients in Abidjan

Specialists from the American Hospital of Paris and the International Polyclinic Sainte Anne-Marie (PISAM), among others, cardiologists and rhythmologists Sana Amraout and Adoubi Innocent as well as interventional radiologists Dr Ehui and Dr Antoine Hakime, relieved several patients in Abidjan, from July 11 to 13, 2022.

This intervention is part of the “Medical Talent” program launched in September 2021 by PISAM, in collaboration with the American Hospital of Paris.

Providing an update on the mission, Tuesday July 12, 2022, Dr. Sana Amraout of the American Hospital of Paris clarified that the technique of interventional cardiology and cardiac arrhythmia is now possible for patients suffering from heart problems in Côte d’Ivoire. brought smiles and hope to several patients.

It is done with a pacemaker or pacemaker, implantable holter or diagnostic intervention and implantable automatic defibrillator.

The technique, which is a first experience on Ivorian soil, according to the cardiologist, thus makes it possible to inform, prevent and treat patients suffering from heart problems avoiding expensive trips outside.

Caring for patients with heart problems is very costly both financially and in time. Many patients die before being taken care of and others spend large sums of money to have access to this interventional cardiology abroad.

“Today, thanks to new technologies, interventional cardiology and cardiac arrhythmia are becoming more efficient. Patients with heart disease can now be treated in Côte d’Ivoire. Our goal is to detect them, treat them locally and quickly,” reassured Dr Sana Amraout.

Cardiologist and rhythmologist Pr Adoubi Innocent of PISAM welcomed this medical innovation which, in addition to relieving patients, strengthens the capacities of local specialists. “What medical talent brings is first of all a sharing of skills concerning rhythmology. There are some aspects that are not well supported here. So this sharing of skills improves us in terms of knowledge, know-how and know-how,” he noted.
