Five cars with powerful engines were stopped last night by officers from the “Special Police Force” department. The actions were taken in the course of a special operation, the focus of which is drivers driving risky and creating danger for other road users.
The drivers of the expensive vehicles organized high-speed departures from a place, using the signals of the traffic lights on key boulevards to start, accelerating to speeds dangerous for both other drivers and pedestrians. As a result of the quick and adequate intervention of the police officers, the five were stopped at the next intersection. A team from the Road Police Department – SDVR also responded to the scene and prepared documents for the violations found. Risky drivers have been handed electronic speeding tickets.
SDVR is categorical that they will be uncompromising towards the violations related to the use of the road network not for its intended purpose, the organization of races on the capital’s boulevards and the forcing of engines in the city. Control of compliance with the rules will be strengthened, including with unmarked cars.
