Special Olympics Drops Florida Vaccine Requirement After Threat of Fine | Society | America Edition

The Special Olympics (Special Olympics) have lifted the obligation of the covid-19 vaccine to the delegations in their Games, which will be held from June 5 to 12 in Orlando (Florida), after the threat of the state to fine the organization with $27.5 million for imposing that requirement.

At a conference this Friday in the aforementioned central Florida city, the state governor, Ron DeSantis, announced that Special Olympics had decided to withdraw the vaccination mandate for members and athletes attending the Games, which was received with a standing ovation from the attendees.
