A total of 39 applications were received for the insurance innovation award in 2021. The jury was able to award gold, silver or bronze awards to around a quarter of them. One product received an award in all three categories.

After participation in the insurance innovation prize 2020 was cautious due to corona, insurers have shown again what they can do in 2021. 39 applications have been submitted to the jury for the prize, which Versicherungsmagazin and Morgen & Morgen have jointly awarded since 2014. This time, the suppliers of ten products can look forward to one or more of the coveted awards. They combine a total of 16 awards in gold, silver and bronze (see table below). Five products come from the life, three from the health and two from the property / casualty division. “The high number of submissions and awards this year shows the growing dynamism and innovative strength of the industry in the direction of customer needs,” it shows Pascal Schiffels, Managing Director of Morgen & Morgen, pleased.

The Bavarian Insurance Chamber succeeded with their “Neuwertgarantie-ElektroMax”, an insurance for farmers, to get gold in product design or insurance technology and in customer benefits. When it came to digitization, it became silver. This means that in the award year 2021, the product is the only one that won an award in all three categories of the innovation award.

Two awards may the Ammerländer with their “WoMobil insurance”, Helvetia with their two products “CleverProtect GF” and “CleverProtect BU” as well as the Nuremberg company with their “BU4Future”. The Hallesche won an award with her “bKV-FEELcare” and “Hi.Germany”. To the SDK Gesundwerker with “Dental Budget and Outpatient Budget” Canada Life Awards went to “Serious Diseases Prevention” and to Ideal with “IDEAL UniversalLife”.

The initiators offered in 2021 Insurance magazine and Morgen & Morgen For the eighth time now, insurers have had a platform to stand out with innovations. Insurance companies are eligible to participate in their capacity as product providers. Underwriters are allowed to participate if there is an innovation in the area of technology or processing. The aim of the award is to underline and further increase the already high level of creativity in the insurance industry vis-à-vis agents and customers, but also within the industry.

The independent attestation “Innovation Prize of the Insurance Industry” confirms the winners’ innovative strength in the three categories of product design / insurance technology, customer benefit and digitization. The products are rated independently of one another in the three categories. Award winners have the opportunity to purchase a seal. The seal gives intermediaries and consumers a trustworthy orientation around the topic of innovative and customer-oriented product design.
