Kochstedt/MZ – What do Home of Rock, the local blood donation service and the bikers with a heart have in common? Some regularly ensure that good bands perform in the “Green Tree” in Kochstedt, while the bikers always like to sit at the regulars’ table at rock concerts. And the DRK blood donation service believes that bikers belong to a particularly endangered group because of their hobby and that Dessau bikers do a good job for Dessau-Roßlau children and young people.
On Saturday, September 11th, from 6.45 p.m., three partners plan with three bands – and with blood. The action is called “Rock for Blood”. Anyone who wants to listen should make a donation of ten euros, 100 percent of which will go to the “Bikers show a heart for children” campaign and, if the health conditions are right, undertake to donate blood.
Since the latter is not possible on a rock music evening, “we have three dates on offer,” says Antje Rettig from the DRK blood donation service. Rettig would be happy if the bikers and listeners of the evening could meet up on Monday, September 27th, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Radisson Blu Hotel, on Thursday, October 7th, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the blood donation institute or on Friday, September 8th October, from 3 to 8 p.m. in the Roßlau fire station. “There is a lot of parking space in the courtyard of the fire station,” says Rettig.
Biker Karl-Heinz Richter thinks donating blood is “an important thing” and is looking forward to donations in favor of the rainbow school, for which the money is being collected, and to the music on Saturday in Kochstedt: around 180 listeners can be there if with “Black Diamonds” and “King Zebra” two formations from Switzerland are on stage and with “El Pistolero” from Mannheim a southern German band rounds off the evening musically.
According to Ralf Zaizek, music connoisseur, initiator of Home of Rock, and managing director of the Dessau DRK district association, the “Black Diamonds” cleverly combine hard rock with catchy melodies. “King Zebra” produced their new album in 2020. The Mannheim band, on the other hand, offers a mixture of music from ACDC and Motörhead. The latter combined influences from punk, hard rock and rock ‘n’ roll.
Tickets for the benefit concert for rockers with heart, brain and blood are available online at www.rockforblood.de or by calling 0173/5600525.
