Lebanese activists have launched a campaign against Moroccan singer Saad Lamjarred, demanding that he not be allowed to sing in Lebanon, given the cases brought against him for molesting and raping French girls.
The activists shared several posts on their accounts, stating: ‘Two concerts are planned for rapist Saad Lamjarred later this year’ and ‘Saad Lamjarred is not welcome. Campaigns to cancel the two concerts and condemn the normalization of artists ,” and “We all participate in the expulsion of the rapist in support of the victims/survivors.”
The art site reached out to Ali Al-Atat, the contractor for concerts that included Saad Lamjarred with Lebanese artists Haifa Wehbe and Nard Al-Atat, and said: ‘After US and French courts acquitted the artist Saad Lamjarred, can now be considered an innocent person whom we have no right to accuse, and those who lead these campaigns against him, it is advisable that they launch campaigns to reveal the identity of those who bombed the port of Beirut, who have killed former president Rafik Hariri and who manipulated the dollar… This party will financially benefit more than 2,000 Lebanese families. The war against Saad Lamjarred will help prevent more than 200 Lebanese families from benefiting.”
