The State Center for Civic Education (LpB) belongs to the Ministry of Science, Culture, Federal and European Affairs and is the most important state institution for political education in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It sets priorities for political education in the country, holds its own events, publishes and distributes materials on political education. It also supports third parties in order to enable a diverse range of political education projects in the country.

  • Your tasks

    • Basic matters of political education (professional responsibilities for the following topics: political system of the Federal Republic of Germany and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, regional studies of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Poland, Israel / Middle East conflict, elections; analysis of strategic goals of political education as well as the effects and role of political education work in different contexts; writing speeches and greetings for the minister and the state secretary; permanent representation of the LpB in topic-related committees)
    • Conceptual work and publications (scientific analysis and didactic preparation of topics in political education; development of materials/publications for political education)
    • Participation in LpB funding matters
    • Answering technical inquiries about political or regional topics from citizens as well as advising visitors to the LpB
  • Your profile

    • Completed academic university degree in political science or a comparable discipline (diploma [Uni]master or state examination)
    • High organizational skills, independence and independent work

    are desirable:

    • Comprehensive specialist knowledge of the political system, political culture, history and geography of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania as well as Germany, Poland and Israel
    • Comprehensive knowledge of the history, role, topics, methods and didactics of political education in Germany
    • theoretical penetration and secure application of the “Beutelsbach Consensus” as a fundamental convention of political education
    • Administrative experience in a state authority as well as knowledge of funding law
    • very good verbal and written expression

    A confident use of standard IT software is required.
