“The question of the location of vocational training in the industrial and technical area has been a decision that has been pending in the region for years. “But if the district wants to invest millions in a wood workshop without a fundamental decision on the reorganization of the vocational school locations has been made, then you take the second step before the first,” said the SPD parliamentary group in the city council. The Social Democrats expressly welcome the district council’s decision to examine the investment.
The Ferdinand-Braun-Schule, Fulda, is the region’s ‘technology competence center’. The city council has provided a double-digit million amount to establish the important automation technology. Metal and electrical professions combine their knowledge with information technology in an interdisciplinary approach. This is why the three professional fields must be viewed as a unit. In the opinion of the Fulda SPD parliamentary group, a proposed relocation of the information technology occupational field to Hünfeld weakens the Ferdinand-Braun-Schule in its core competencies and cannot be in the interests of the city of Fulda. Just as incomprehensible and against the will of the school community of the Ferdinand-Braun-Schule is the relocation of the wood professions to Hünfeld, the Social Democrats concluded. “
