Bremen (dpa) – After its victory in the state elections in Bremen, the SPD will start preliminary talks on Friday about a possible formation of a government. Meetings with the Greens (10 a.m.) and the Left Party (3 p.m.) are planned for this purpose. The three parties have governed the smallest federal state together for the past four years. Mathematically, the alliance can continue, but the Greens have lost many votes. A grand coalition of SPD and CDU would also be possible. An exploratory talk on this variant is to take place on Saturday.
State head Reinhold Wetjen, Mayor Andreas Bovenschulte and parliamentary group leader Mustafa Güngör are leading the talks for the SPD.
