PT PLN (Persero) opens opportunities for the general public and investors who are interested in establishing an SPKLU (General Electric Vehicle Charging Station) battery charging facility. PLN promises a gross profit of up to Rp 19 million per month.
SPKLU is one of the important infrastructures in welcoming the era of electrified vehicles. PLN as the state electricity company, is a company that has the capacity to build SPKLU networks throughout Indonesia.
Executive Vice President of Marketing and Product Development of PT PLN (Persero), Hikmat Drajat said, PLN did not want to monopolize the SPKLU business. Therefore, it is open to establish partnerships with the public in the construction of this facility.

“PLN opens as wide as possible to the public, to investors, to jointly build an electric car ‘SPBU’ partnership (SPKLU). So please register with PLN, choose a location where, we are ready. Hikmat explained that there are already private parties that have established SPKLU partnerships with PLN. Hikmat did not mention the name of the company or the brand, but what is certain is that this company is engaged in franchising and has global status.
“Yesterday, one of the leading global franchisors, operating in Indonesia, has partnered with PLN to build an SPKLU franchise at their outlets. According to Hikmat, the partnership process is quite easy. All of PLN will take care of it, prospective partners only need to deposit initial capital, provide land, they can open an SPKLU business.
“If you want to start, right now, because maybe two, three years from now the franchise will be expensive. Now it’s probably still cheap, because it’s just the beginning,” said Hikmat.
PLN offers SPKLU with different charger specifications. The medium charger package with a capacity of 25 kW, then the fast charger package with a capacity of 50 kW, and the ultra fast charger package with a capacity of more than 100 kW. This franchise package includes shelter construction (outdoor or indoor), installation of electricity supply, and maintenance of SPKLU.
In the presentation material presented by Hikmat, the SPKLU partnership scheme with a choice of six packages appeared. The cheapest is the 25 kW (outdoor) medium charging package, with a package price of Rp. 389.4 million, partner fee of Rp. 1,350.07/kWh, and gross income or gross income of Rp. 8.1 million per month.
Then the most expensive package, namely ultra fast charging >100 kW (indoor) with a package price of Rp. 1.056 billion, partner fees of Rp. 3,306.57/kWh, and gross income or gross income reaching Rp. 19.8 million per month.
