Spate of Robberies Strikes Williamsburg Businesses: Police Investigating Multiple Incidents

Police are investigating after several businesses were robbed in Williamsburg.

On Friday night, four businesses within five blocks of each other were looted.

Security footage obtained exclusively by NY1 shows an individual breaking the glass panel of the front door of Lavender Lake, a bar near the Williamsburg Bridge.

Police say an unknown man broke the latch on the front door and took $1,800 from the safe and cash register.

Also that the suspect used tools to enter a nearby restaurant on Wythe Street and took $9,000 from its safe.

Two other businesses, including a grocery store, were also robbed.

In addition to breaking the glass, the thief also made a square hole in the safe where most of the money he stole was located.

Apparently I use a tool to cut steel.

Cash registers containing about $600 were also emptied.

Police say it is unclear if these incidents are connected, but they are all being investigated.
