For security reasons, the football league game between the teams of Jūrmala “Spartaka” and “Liepāja” has been postponed indefinitely, confirms the Secretary General of the Latvian Football Federation (LFF) Edgars Pukinsks.

The number of spectators in future Super League matches will also be limited.

On Sunday, Liepāja had to host the Spartaka team at the Daugava Stadium, but, as previously reported, three cases of Covid-19 infection have been detected in the Jurmala team administration.

Jūrmala “Spartaks” announced on its website “Facebook” on Saturday that after the LFF congress “our club in cooperation with LFF and SPKC operative activities has tested all its employees, athletes and service personnel”.

“Unfortunately, the tests have revealed three positive results among the club’s management and service staff,” the club said. “In two cases, the cause of the infection was fully established, both persons had attended the LFF congress in person and were in direct contact with a person who had a positive result for Covid-19. The causes of infection in the third case are being clarified. All three people were immediately isolated, are currently in quarantine and pose no danger to the team or others. ”

The rest of the club staff, athletes, service staff, stadium staff and other persons associated with Spartak have not shown any symptoms and all tests are negative.

“Valmiera” also issued a statement on Saturday.

“We can confirm that the Covid-19 positive was revealed to our club’s vice president Uldis Pūcītis (the test was performed on July 9),” the club’s Facebook website reports. “On July 10, all the footballers, coaches and support staff of our Premier League and doubles team were also tested, a total of 46 people. Everyone tested negative. ”

The case of Covid-19 owl has been tracked, and it is known that the disease was acquired through direct contact with the aforementioned person, who, like him, attended the LFF Congress on July 3, and on the same evening the two people went to Optibet together. Premier League game in Valmiera. ”

The club’s vice president is reported to have had his first symptoms on July 9, and has been in quarantine since that date.

Valmiera, taking all precautionary measures, continues to work in the usual mode, preparing for the next Premier League and doubles championship games.

LFF confirms that centralized Covid-19 tests have already been performed in both Premier League clubs and no new cases have been detected after receiving all the results.

Players and officials of other Premier League clubs, as well as competition judges are also tested in a certain order.

According to the instructions of the SPKC and the sanitary protocol of the competitions organized by the LFF, all four persons are in self-isolation for the period specified in the regulatory documents.

According to the information available to the LFF, another case of Covid-19 has been detected in the examinations of other participants of the LFF Congress on July 3 (LFF members, guests, technical staff, election candidates).

It was also established that a family member of one sick person was on Friday at the Metta club training camp at the LFF Training and Exercise Center “Staicele”. Following consultations with the relevant authorities and an evaluation of Metta’s wide range of preventive and safety measures for young people at the College, the risk of illness was low.

Nevertheless, the person was promptly released from further participation in the camp and provided with the necessary examination, while the parents of other camp participants were informed of the need to closely monitor the well-being of their shots for the next period, if necessary. The tests did not reveal any illness in the family member.

Meanwhile, the league team Daugavpils, after performing the Covid-19 tests on its Facebook website, reports that “the whole team, coaches and administration have a negative Covid-19 test”.

This post was posted on the team’s website as early as Friday.
