Spartak head coach Guillermo Abascal was very dissatisfied with the referee Sergey Karasev at the end of the match of the 5th round RPL with Zenith.
The match “Spartak” – “Zenith” ended with the defeat of the red and white with a score of 1:3. Abaskal did not like that Karasev showed a yellow card to Spartak midfielder Mikhail Ignatov at the beginning of the game. At the post-match press conference, the Spanish coach spoke emotionally about this.
“I want to mention important details that influenced the fate of today’s match. The first is Victor’s injury [Мозеса], it was a forced replacement. The second point is the shameful decision to show a yellow card already in the 9th minute to Mikhail Ignatov. What it is? What is this?! We pressed, everything was fine, we took the ball, we had chances, we attacked – and suddenly the referee shows this yellow card, absolutely unreasonable. Basically, it kills the game. Because a footballer can no longer go into pressure in the same way. This was the reason for the replacement of Ignatov. He played well, but having a yellow card, we could no longer put pressure like it was before,” said Abascal.
We present to the attention of Sport24 visitors a video with Abascal’s reaction:
Previously it was reported that the ex-footballer of “Spartak” harshly criticized the coach after the defeat from “Zenith”: “Abascal was completely disgraced”.
