Spartacus, the Bugatti SUV that would paralyze the world

Many luxury brands, such as Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Lamborghini and even Ferrari itself, have fallen for SUVs due to their high profitability. But there is one manufacturer, apart from McLaren, that still resists these ‘siren songs’ and it is none other than Bugatti.

The French firm seems to have no intention of developing an SUV, even though it would likely become a highly prized model for many billionaires. Now, designer Sajdin Osmancevic has raised that possibility with an impressive digital creation, the Bugatti Spartacus.

What a great SUV!

The truth is that one is left speechless when looking at this computer-generated model. Of course, it has Bugatti’s corporate elements, such as the horseshoe-shaped grille and the ‘C’ that forms where the roof meets the side of the body.

Obviously, the appearance is imposing, both because of the huge alloy wheels and the very high waistline, which greatly limits the glass surface. The design of the rear will also leave you stunned, although I miss several exhaust outlets.

With the Tourbillon powertrain

Let’s consider the best-case scenario: Bugatti decides to give the green light to this project. What engine would you include in the SUV? I wouldn’t have the slightest doubt: the new 1,800 hp plug-in hybrid system seen in the Tourbillon.

In case you don’t remember, it features a new 8.3 V16 naturally aspirated engine with 1,000 hp, plus three electric units, two on the front axle and the third on the rear, which provide the other 800 hp and are powered by a 25 kWh battery. With those 1,800 hp in total, the Tourbillon goes from 0 to 100 in just 2 seconds…

At more than 400 km/h with an all-terrain vehicle

In the case of the Spartacus, this figure would be slightly higher, firstly due to its greater weight and secondly due to its lower aerodynamic coefficient. However, it would be the most exclusive and fastest SUV in the world, that’s for sure, leaving one step below the Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

In addition, it would enjoy the 0 label, so it would not be affected by the LEZ (Low Emission Zones) of cities or by anti-pollution protocols, if activated in certain cities.

Can you imagine this SUV going over 400 km/h and paying several million Euros for it (the Tourbillon costs 3.6 million Euros)? A madness in every sense that should never be ruled out as a reality. After all, brands are looking to make money and history or tradition takes a backseat.
