Becali and other representatives of the FCSB were encouraged by the fact that the match was refereed by three Danish referees led by the head Morten Krogh. According to the Romanians, the referees helped Sparta win because it has a Danish coach, Lars Friis, and two Danes played for the Czech team on the pitch.

Becali was particularly frustrated by the situation from the thirtieth minute, when Olaru tried to break into the penalty area and fell after a collision with Preciad. The referee Krogh remained calm, moreover he gave Olaru a yellow card for complaints.

“That was a clear penalty. We should have kicked her. The referee is to blame for the bad score. The match should have ended at 3:2 for us. After half time it should be 1:2,” the owner of FCSB was upset right after the match in an interview with Digisport.

Becali also felt unhappy at the end of the game, when his team reached for a chance and extra time. “And the referee only sets five minutes. Meanwhile, there was a break for drinks. There were tours. He should have set at least eight minutes,” he continued.

But he didn’t hesitate to get into his own players. He especially criticized Ștefanescu and Baluta. “As if they weren’t on the field. Even Sut and Lixandru did not play as well as they should. They were afraid when they saw thirty thousand people in the hall. The third Czech goal was a mistake by Tarnovanu. But overall we were better than Sparta, our game was better,” said Becali.
