In the current year, Jágr has not yet played for Kladno and it is not very likely that this would happen in the next few days. Although he does not want to quit and would like to help the Knights in the ongoing season.
“Sparta is the biggest club in the Czech Republic, and the best player in our history should not be missing from its celebrations,” said Sparta CEO Petr Vosmík to Jágra.
“Getting Jarda was not easy, he is a great professional. When we approached him for the first time, he didn’t know if and when he would return (to hockey). But we were patient. Both teams will play the match in special jerseys with the “120” logo on the chest. The Spartans will wear a black and gold kit, while their opponent will wear a white and gold kit. “They are beautiful, clean. I wouldn’t have believed that I would ever wear a jersey with a Spartan logo in my career,” laughs one of the goalkeepers of the Czechoslovak national team, Ondřej Pavelec.
Sparta will be led by Richard Žemlička as captain, followed by coach František Výborný from the substitutes. That is, large club symbols with an ace in the coat of arms. “It is a great honor for me to be a coach for Sparta again at such an event,” admits Výborný, who led Sparta to three championships.
