Sparta Prague Signs Jakub Uhrinčať on Loan with Option from Banská Bystrica

Jakub Uhrinčať became the third winter signing of Sparta Prague, where he went on a half-year loan with an option from Banská Bystrica. The 22-year-old defender will work in the second division reserve…

“Jakub has played regularly in Slovakia’s highest competition for the past two years and has been able to continuously improve. We like his typology and he has potential, that’s why we are bringing him in. At the moment, he is coming to our B-team, where he will have the opportunity to get used to our requirements,” he said to the new acquisition, Sporting Director of Sparta Tomáš Rosický.

Uhrinčať helped Banská Bystrica to return to the top Slovak league, where he played in 44 matches in a year and a half, scoring three times and adding an assist.

“I feel great. I got the opportunity to be part of the biggest club in the Czech Republic and I can’t wait for the moment when I run out on the pitch. I come with humility, I know that first I have to acclimatize and get to know the guys in the team,” said Uhrinčať after signing the contract .

During the winter transfer window, Sparta was already strengthened by midfielder Markus Solbakken from the Norwegian Viking and forward Indrit Tuci, who until now played in the Croatian league for Lokomotiv Zagreb.
