Sparta Prague crushed Anderlecht 6:0 in the warm-up for the new season and won for the first time in the final fourth match of the summer training. The captain of the Czech champion Ladislav Krejčí flashed with a hat-trick. The match at the training camp in Austria, according to the agreement of the clubs, was played unconventionally for three quarters of 45 minutes.
“It was maybe even better than we expected. It was a very good performance in many aspects. The 6-0 win is of course nice. We scored some nice goals, but mainly I am satisfied with the performance and mental attitude of the team. It is not easy to play a match with so many minutes. It was a very good performance both defensively and offensively. So I’m positive in that direction, especially when we compare it to previous games,” Sparta’s Danish coach Brian Priske told the club’s television.
Birmančević and striker Sejk, who hit the post in the 20th minute, started in the starting line-up of the Prague team. After half an hour, Birmančević was fouled in the penalty area and Krejčí easily converted the penalty. In the 62nd minute of the substitute Sadílek’s game, Panák extended the game and the Letenské captain scored the second goal. Krejčí then completed the hat trick in the 84th minute from another penalty kick.
In the final 45 minutes, Sparta coach Priske substituted, but his charges did not slow down the pace and added three more goals. In the 123rd minute, Pešek, who took over the captain’s armband from Krejčí, made his mark after an escape. Immediately, Minčev made it 5-0, and Kuchta completed the demolition of the quarter-finalist of last season’s European Conference League, who finished in 11th place in the domestic competition, from another penalty.
“Overall, it was a very good day for Sparta. A clean sheet against Anderlecht is very valuable, even for our goalkeepers. Last season, the defense was much better than the previous ones, but we can definitely improve this aspect as well. We want to have that mentality in the team that we collect clean accounts,” said Priske.

After the opening defeat against Jihlava and 1:1 draws with Dinamo Zagreb and Čukarička, the Spartans ended their wait for the first win in the summer training with a crushing victory. The defending champions will enter the new season next Sunday with a home match against Olomouc.
“We made slow progress. I think we had a difficult start to the preparation. Also because we had a few players in the national teams. But then we made good steps all the time. I think we built it up very well. We moved, we only lacked the results in the previous matches. That’s why I’m very happy for today’s comfortable victory,” said Priske.
“I think we can always improve the little things, the details. We need to make certain decisions better. But if you look at today’s game, it’s just about the details. We did well in many things. But you have to work every day. We know that for example in we have to be more accurate in defense,” he added.
