Sparta hockey players already know the opponent for the semifinals of the Spengler Cup

Thanks to Matěj Stránský’s goal, home team Davos became the winners of the second semifinal, beating IFK Helsinki 3:2. In the semi-final they will face another Swiss team, HC Ambri-Piotta, whose squad includes fellow Czech representatives Michael Špaček and Filip Chlapík.

Örebro, whose line-up once again included Czech striker Radek Mužík, scored Filip Berglund’s 12th-minute power play goal to win. Then the goalkeepers dominated the match for a long time, Canadian Michael Hutchinson was helped off the crossbar in the second period when he finished off Gustav Backström.

The second goal was only hit after 21 seconds of the third period after an individual action by Linus Öberg. The Canadians, who have won the tournament sixteen times in the past, have only reduced their numbers. Excellent catcher Jonas Arntzen was out by Chris DiDomenico. Mathias Bromé scored 3:1 for Örebro in the power play.
