Sparta brings back the fourth reinforcement. Brought a World Cup participant to Qatar

Mabil moved to Cádiz in the summer from Midtjylland. At the end of his commitment in the Danish team, he was a guest in Kasimpasa, Turkey. He didn’t have much space in the Spanish squad, he started a total of six competitive duels, in which he didn’t earn any points.

“Awer is an offensive winger, a hardworking player who can leapfrog opponents one-on-one. He has international matches experience, having played for both the Australian national team and in UEFA competitions. He is a team player with a winning mentality. The plus is that the manager knows him well from working together at Midtjylland,” he says of the new signing Sparta website ACS sports director Tomáš Rosický.

“I want to fight for the titles. So the main reason why I came here is to win, fight for the title and also play the European cups again. I played the Champions League with my former club in Denmark. It was a good feeling and I’d really like to relive it. And that’s the focus for me here,” Mabil told the Spartan website.

Born in Kenya, Mabil moved to Australia with his family when he was 10 years old. He broke into big football with Australian side Campbelltown City and spent a further three seasons with opposition Adelaide United. At the age of twenty he was transferred to Midtjylland in Denmark.

After the first spells on loan, he joined the staff of the three-time Danish champion in 2018, with whom he enjoyed his best football years so far. With Midtjylland he celebrated the Danish Cup triumph and won the championship title in the 2019/2020 season.

Mabil also played in the Champions League for Midtjylland, making a total of 15 appearances. In the millionaire competition, he scored three goals and one assist, which he recorded in the LM qualifying match against Slavia.

Sparta brought in three more reinforcements even before Mabil. Finn Kaan Kairinen, midfielder Qazim Laci from Albania and Serbian defender Dimitri Kamenovic.
