With a new app, customers should be able to collect discounts and redeem them at the checkout. They should also receive exclusive voucher offers. According to the group, the printed version of the discount markers will remain in place. According to Spar, only the terms of use have to be accepted in order to use the app.
Personal information is not collected and is not required to redeem discounts. The new app works “very data-efficiently,” said Spar board member Markus Kaser. Therefore, no “profiling” is carried out. Customers are not asked where they live, but can voluntarily enter three of their favorite Spar locations in order to receive regional vouchers.
