The Spanish Prime Minister’s wife is infected with a new coronavirus, sources from the Spanish Government said today, who assured that both she and her husband, Pedro Sánchez, are doing well.
Both remain in the Moncloa Palace and follow the preventive measures established by the health authorities.
The positive result of Sáchez’s wife was detected following tests carried out in the last hours on people closest to the head of the Government.
This week, ministers Irene Montero (Equality) and Carolina Darias (Territorial Policy) also had positive tests for Covid-19.
Spain is one of the countries most affected by the pandemic, with 120 deaths and more than 4,200 confirmed cases.
The new coronavirus was detected in December in China, and has already caused more than 5,700 deaths worldwide.
The number of infected people has exceeded 151 thousand people, with cases registered in 137 countries and territories, including Portugal, which has 169 confirmed cases.
