On Saturday, July 1, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez signed a joint statement in Kyiv in support of Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic perspective. That is, the majority of EU countries, namely 21, have already supported our perspective, including on the issue of NATO membership.

He also said that at the meeting there were reports of intelligence, the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the commander of OK “North”, the head of the Border Guard Service, the minister of internal affairs, the chairman of the regional state administration of Rivne region – on social issues and people’s needs. In addition, the head of “Energoatom” Kotin and the director of the Rivne NPP also reported.
“In general, we worked out in detail not only everything related to the physical security of our strategic facilities and northern regions, but also such sensitive issues as cybersecurity. Thanks to each and every one in the Rivne region and here, at the Rivne nuclear power plant, and along the entire perimeter of our northern border who care about the security of Ukraine and our people,” the head of state summed up.
The President recalled that on July 1, another package of Ukrainian sanctions against those who help Russia to wage this terrorist war was published.
“In particular, there are sanctions against almost 300 legal entities and almost 200 individuals. And these are not only Russian citizens. Everyone who will help the aggressor in the world will receive a response from Ukraine and the whole world,” Zelensky said.
In addition, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez visited Ukraine that day, which the president called very symbolic, since this is also the first day of the beginning of the Spanish presidency of the Council of the European Union.
“This unequivocally testifies to a new reality. Our common European home has always been unimaginable without Ukraine. And now we have reached the point at the political level that European affairs are no longer considered without Ukraine,” the Ukrainian leader is convinced.
According to him, Sanchez’s visit testifies both to the priorities of the Spanish presidency and to our cooperation.
“I thank you, Spain, for your support – defense, political, economic! I would also like to thank you for the respect and help of our people who took refuge in Spain, fleeing the hostilities in Ukraine. I believe that we will soon be able to provide all the necessary conditions to our people were returning home, to Ukraine,” Zelensky stressed.
He also said that a joint statement was signed with the Spanish Prime Minister to support the European and Euro-Atlantic perspectives of Ukraine.
“And this is already the 21st such statement, that is, the majority supported our prospect, including on the issue of membership in the Alliance… Belgium, Denmark, our friends from Estonia, Italy, Iceland, Spain, Canada, this is Latvia, these are Lithuania, the Netherlands, Germany, these are Norway and Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, France, Czech Republic, Montenegro and Sweden. Thank you all!” – said the head of state.
In conclusion, the President commented on the decision of the NEURC to increase tariffs for water and water supply, which came into force on July 1. Zelensky called it shameful.
“Unprofessional. Not agreed with the government. We cannot and will not take such decisions calmly. The government has been instructed to submit response decisions. And they will be,” Zelensky assured.
