Berganza became known for her renditions of operas by Mozart. She also sang operas by the Italian composer Rossini and Bizet from France. She has performed in world theaters such as the Teatro Real in Madrid, la Scala in Milan, the Vienna State Opera and Covent Garden in London. She also sang in the United States.
In 1974 the opera singer was a guest at the Holland Festival, where she sang works by Mozart, De Falla and Bizet, writes NPO Radio 4† Also in 1992 Berganza performed in the Netherlands, where she as an encore Havana in Seguidilla from the opera Carmen sang. A Trouw reviewer then skewed: “And then it strikes once again what an enormous allure that woman exudes, where necessary to the point of being canaille, but still royal”.
In the same year, Berganza also sang at the opening ceremony of the Seville World’s Fair and at the start of the Olympic Games in Barcelona.
