Spanish Motorcyclist Jorge Prado Dominates Arnhem Track, Gains Lead in Championship

“Already since Saturday I felt good on this track and I can drive at a good speed,” said Favre. “The track was tough. Everything went according to plan in the first race, until after the springboard my bike came to a sudden stop. At first I thought the fault was the chain, but in fact a stone was stuck in the rear brake. I fought my way up to second place and knew that I couldn’t make any mistakes in the second race . I made the start and drove at my own pace. People keep talking about fighting in the championship, but I believe I can only win if something happens with Prado. I’ll just try to win as many as possible for the rest of the season.”

After winning the first race, “GasGas” driver Jorge Prado finished the second race only fourth, but took second place in the stage. With three stages before the end of the season, the Spanish motorcyclist is 92 points ahead of Favre, so it will be very difficult to catch up with him.

“This weekend was difficult,” admitted Prado. “My rhythm wasn’t very good, but in the first race I made the start and won. In the second race, the start was worse, I had to struggle at first, but then I settled into my position. It was very difficult and I didn’t want to make mistakes. Overall, the weekend was good.”

A fantastic duel developed into a fight for the third place in the overall standings of this stage. In the second race, Glen Coldenhoff chased the other “Yamaha” rider Jeremy Seaver for a long time, before the finish they both even caught the leader Favre. However, the host Koldenhof failed to overtake his teammate and Sievers climbed to the third step of the podium on the Arnhem track.

“It’s never easy when you’re being followed by a local hero, especially when he’s trying to get on the podium in his home stretch,” Sievers said. “I managed to finish higher, but the battle was tough. I’m happy with what I did today, even though a mistake in the first race cost me the win or at least second place in the stage. But otherwise I’m satisfied, especially considering what happened on Saturday when there were problems with the bike’s setup. I knew it wouldn’t be easy, but we did it, and that’s the only thing that matters.”
