Spanish La Liga Set to Benefit the Most from New Offside Law

Spanish “Marca”: La Liga will benefit most from the new offside law

FIFA revealed new amendments to the offside law, proposed by former Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger, to stipulate the new law that offside is not counted unless the attacker is ahead of his entire body over the second last defender, in a law called ” Wenger’s Law.

Yesterday, Tuesday, the Spanish newspaper, Marca, considered that the Spanish League would benefit most from the new offside law, given that La Liga witnessed the announcement of the largest number of offside cases last season.

In La Liga competitions, 1,681 cases of offsides were reported, at a rate of 4.42 offsides per match, according to the newspaper, while 1,293 offsides were calculated in the Premier League, at a rate of 3.4 offsides per match, and 1,238 offsides were counted in the Italian League, at a rate of 3.25 offsides per match.

It also recorded, according to the newspaper, 1219 cases of infiltration in the French League, at a rate of 3.2 infiltrations per match.
