Spanish king refuses to accept future inheritance from father NOW

Spanish King Felipe refuses to accept the future legacy of his father Juan Carlos. The king reported this in a Sunday press statement.

King Felipe also wants his father to stop receiving an annual government grant.

With the statement, Felipe responds to Sunday’s revelation that he would be the beneficiary of a fund set up by his father, writes The Telegraph.

This fund would have 65 million euros, which would be a donation from the king of Saudi Arabia. This money goes to his son after Juan Carlos dies.

Felipe denies involvement in this fund. He refers to a statement he made when he was crowned in 2014:

“The crown must protect the dignity of the institution, protect its prestige and act honestly and transparently, as it is appropriate for the function and social responsibility of the institution.”
