Madrid, March 3 (EFE).- The Spanish journalist Pablo González is in provisional prison in Poland accused of espionage, his lawyer, Gonzalo Boye, has informed.
“After 4 days, we have just been informed by the Spanish Consulate in Poland that he is being accused of a crime of espionage under article 130.1 of the Polish Penal Code and that he is in provisional detention in the Rzeswów prison,” explains Boye in a message on the social network Twitter.
On February 28, the lawyer stated on this same social network that González had been detained “for doing his job,” and demanded that his physical integrity and his immediate release be guaranteed, a request that Reporters Without Borders also reiterated.
The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, assured in Congress that the journalist would receive “consular assistance”.
The last tweet published by the journalist is from February 28.
Rzesowów (Resovia) is a city in southwestern Poland, located about 80 kilometers from the border with Ukraine and about 170 kilometers from Lviv.
