President Pedro Sánchez ratified his commitment to the total peace project of the Colombian government. In turn, Gustavo Petro said that Spain will study the possibility of removing the ELN from the list of terrorists.
The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, announced that during this year that country will contribute one million euros in the framework of the peace talks that the Gustavo Petro administration is carrying out with the ELN guerrillas.
“Colombia and Spain also share an ambitious program of reforms, of transformations that has been the subject of debate in our meeting and also of sharing information and that are bearing fruit”, Sánchez stated, highlighting the relevance of the meeting held this Thursday with his Colombian counterpart.
Pedro Sánchez ratified his government’s commitment to President Petro’s total peace project, which he described as courageous and ambitious.
“I think that the meeting we have had today is extremely positive for our two countries. In the first place, I have reiterated to President Petro the commitment of Spain, of the whole of Spanish society, not only of the government, to support his ambitious plan, also a courageous total peace project that aims to build a broad and lasting peace in Colombia”, said the president.
